Blue Chalk Doc Is Finalist in Pictures of the Year International
Pictures of the Year International (POYI) has named our New Yorker Documentary, "Quiet No More," as a finalist in the Documentary Journalism category.
Directed and produced by Eléonore Hamelin, “Quiet No More” tells the story of the Reverend Sharon Risher and her journey to forgiveness following her mother’s murder at the hands of a white supremacist in the Charleston church massacre in 2015.
POYI is one of the oldest and most prestigious photojournalism contests in the world. A program of the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute at the Missouri School of Journalism, it recognizes the best photojournalism, online presentation, and visual editing created or published in a given year.
Due to the pandemic, a remote judging event for the Documentary Journalism category was held on March 7th and was judged by award-winning photo editors, journalists, and industry professionals.
If you've yet to see "Quiet No More," it is available to watch in full on The New Yorker.
