Blue Chalk Welcomes Jayme Markus

We are thrilled to announce Jayme Markus has joined Blue Chalk as communications and production coordinator. Jayme started at Blue Chalk in October 2013 as social media intern and assumed her staff position as of June 1.

Jayme is a photographer and videographer from the Midwest where she received a degree in strategic communications from the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities.

Prior to Blue Chalk, Jayme was the brand and social media manager at A7, Inc., a Brooklyn-based camera accessory design and manufacturing company and the graphic design and marketing assistant at 100cameras, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering kids through photography. The use of storytelling for social good is near and dear to her heart and Jayme continues to volunteer as the visual designer at 100cameras.

Before coming to Brooklyn, Jayme was a mediation coordinator at the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota and co-founded Mama D’s Coffee alongside her mother in Wisconsin.

Jayme’s grandmother Ruth Markus was an acclaimed artist and enamelist and created many unique pieces made from forming glass and metal.
