Blue Chalk Wins Three Telly Awards, Bringing Total to 31

Blue Chalk-supported projects took home three honors at this year’s Telly Awards, bringing our total number of wins from the competition to 31.

Firebreak, an original Blue Chalk feature documentary, received a Gold Award, the top honor, in the Documentary category. The film follows Brandon and Royal, two men who met fighting wildfires while incarcerated and now lead a firefighting crew made up of formerly incarcerated individuals.

Game On: Hoops and Dreams in Rural China, developed by USA Today and CICC with Blue Chalk supporting all phases of production, earned a Silver Award in the Sports category. The series takes viewers into the heart of China’s “Village NBA” tournament, where basketball bridges ethnic and cultural divides in rural communities.

Sister Cities, also a USA Today and CICC production with full production support from Blue Chalk, received a Bronze Award in the Travel/Tourism category. Premised on the pairing of Sister Cities, a long-running international program of people-to-people exchange, the series explores the rich histories, cultural perspectives, and colorful characters of Sister Cities in China and the US that make their respective residents proud.

The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens. Now in its 41st year, the competition receives more than 13,000 entries annually from all 50 states and five continents.

We're proud to celebrate these wins alongside our wonderful partners and talented team.
