Finding the Unexpected with Randy Olson

In the spirit of new beginnings, we couldn't be more excited to share with you the first Blue Chalk release of 2014.

In December we had a unique opportunity to create a promotional piece for National Geographic photographer Randy Olson—a master photojournalist named both Newspaper Photographer of the Year (1992) and Magazine Photographer of the Year (2003) by the Pictures of the Year International competition.

One Little Hammer will take you on a journey through Olson’s work and his quest to create photographs that make a difference. “If I don’t go somewhere and find something that’s unexpected,” Olson says, “then I’m not doing my job.”

Being immersed in Olson's work over the past several weeks has been an inspiration. His words and images are enchanting and remind us of the essential role photography plays in our society.

We feel his message is a perfect one to start the new year, and, as fellow storytellers, we think you’ll feel the same way.

Ready to be inspired? When you are, put on your headphones, turn down the lights and enjoy our latest piece: One Little Hammer: Randy Olson.
