Last year, Blue Chalk profiled celebrity photographer Art Zelin who charmed us with his unique and colorful personality.

Last week, we were shocked and saddened to hear the news that he had passed away suddenly. 

The son of a Mafia foot soldier, Zelin succeeded in photographing some of the world's most famous faces, including Michael Jackson and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s.  

He was a bold, daring and talented photographer and his work ethic and go get 'em attitude were truly inspiring.

Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his friends and family. He will be deeply missed.
