The NewsDox unit of Blue Chalk produced the Living City series in collaboration with The New York Times video department and metro desk. The six-part series looks at a range of New York city and state infrastructure projects, from subways to waterways, waste management to steam systems.

"Rebuilding After Sandy" is the sixth and final video in the "Living City" series. It tells the story of New York City's recovery on the second anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, which produced the worst storm-related damage in New York's history. Major players in maintaining the city's infrastructure outline their strategies for making New York more resilient to future storms. While the city had power restored in days and tunnels reopened in weeks, the repair and fortification of underground facilities will continue for years.

The Living City series is the first major initiative to come from NewsDox, a division of Blue Chalk Media designed to report and produce visual journalism with news organizations and information brands.
