Ochre was a digital journal published by Blue Chalk Media from 2014 - 2018.
Written and edited by the Blue Chalk team, it presented stories about changes in the visual storytelling industry.
In early 2018, we announced the news that we were passing on Ochre to the to the new graduate program in digital journalism at Northeastern University in Boston.
Our mission with Ochre was to create a place to ask questions of the visual storytelling industry and collectively share the search for answers. It seemed only natural to house Ochre at a place where inquiry is a daily event.
Since it began, the blog has featured pieces ranging from how non-profits like Human Rights Watch are using videos to help tell and magnify their stories to examinations of the role virtual reality is playing in journalism.
Ochre has also been nominated for a Webby for Websites: Blog - Business and was an Honoree for Websites/ Best Use of Photography.
