Over the course of his twenty-year career, National Geographic Creative photographer Randy Olson has ventured to 50 countries on 30 different assignments around the globe, telling stories in Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Russia’s Putorana Plateau, among others. Named both Newspaper Photographer of the Year (1992) and Magazine Photographer of the Year (2003) by the Pictures of the Year International competition, Olson is one of only two photographers in the competition’s history to win both titles.

Blue Chalk worked with Olson to create a promotional piece to demonstrate the scope of his work and the mindful mission that accompanies him in the field. One Little Hammer brings the viewer through Olson’s acclaimed work and his quest to create photographs that make a difference and remind us how we are all the same.
