About the Project

Blue Chalk is working with Vote Yes On Measure 97 to produce a series of short films to be shared across the web. Measure 97 would increase the corporate minimum tax when sales exceed $25 million to fund education, healthcare, and senior services in Oregon.

These short films tell the stories of Oregonians who support Measure 97 during one of the most contentious and expensive election disputes in the state’s history.

Here we meet Alfonso Bernal, a thirteen-year-old student in the Umatilla school district. Alfonso supports Measure 97 because he knows having a good education will allow him to give back to his community and his family in a more impactful way.
