About the Project

Blue Chalk worked with MEDIAmerica and Travel Oregon to produce a film that celebrates birding and showcases the many birding opportunities unique to Oregon.

The video touches on how Oregon provides easy access to the outdoors and nature for all and how this is especially relevant and welcome during the pandemic. We filmed two local BIPOC birders, one at Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge in Portland and the other at Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove, and learned about what birding means to them and the work they do to promote birding as inclusive and accessible to everyone.
